I often question the forces that compel me to invest every moment wholeheartedly, and I wonder why I possess this unyielding desire to live with such passion.
Perhaps it’s an innate need- a sense of not feeling safe. Maybe it’s the realization that if I ever stop, I risk drowning in stagnation. Or perhaps it’s the harsh truth that the world is cold and demanding, and anyone who doesn’t play by the rules may simply not survive.
Born as the second daughter of a teacher, I was raised to value education and discipline. I learned early on that everything had to be earned-parental approval, a secure future, friendship, and even love. So, I am not denying the role of nurture or external influences in shaping one’s diligence.
However, as an adult, I’ve felt a cultural pressure to strike a balance between working and taking time to relax. And that expectation was only added to my stress. That’s when I realized that thriving on struggle mights be an inherent part of my nature.
I love challenging obstacles-as long as I have the strong motivation and hope that I might eventually succeed. There’s an undeniable joy in the hustle, in fighting for my dreams and everything I cherish. After all, these dreams and aspirations can be privileges. I am grateful for every single day of my life for having hopes to carry on.
But even so, there must be some concrete reasons behind the hard work I put in every day. Enjoying the process is one thing, but having a clear destination is another, right? Is it for success, money, fame, or security?
A little bit of everything, I would say. But if I had to choose one word that best defines my ambition, it would be freedom.
Freedom from everything that once held me back. And I truly believe that true freedom comes from having the strength that makes you irreplaceable– whether through knowledge, skills, or even a distinct energy. Whatever sets you apart will ultimately bring you every earthly value you pursue.
This is simply my story, there isn’t a single answer. Whatever motivates you, as long as it keeps you moving forward, I would say that is another answer, even a calling in some cases.
Ultimately, what matters most is that we’re all alive and continuing our unique journeys.
